One of FORA's main goals is working to enact changes at a state level so that recovery is accessible to everyone seeking it, and that the recovery community is perceived in a more positive light.
· Opioid Settlement Fund: 85% of these funds should go to the Department of Mental Health to make grants available for recovery support services, addiction treatment, and prevention.
· Promote Person-Centered Language – Emphasization on the person's strengths and abilities, rather than the disorder.
· Good Samaritan Laws- Encourage people to get help for others without fear of legal consequences.
· Chemical Endangerment- Let’s get treatment, not jail for pregnant women.
· Harm Reduction- The primary goal of harm reduction is to save lives and protect the health of both people who use drugs and their communities.
· Education for the community on addiction, recovery, and medication-assisted recovery.
